Prime Advice successfully defended the interests of Karelia Pulp LLC

Prime Advice successfully defended the interests of Karelia Pulp LLC – the largest exporter of newsprint. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation filed a claim for recovery of the amount of 924 million rubles from the exporter. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Karelia Pulp had to return to the budget the amount of subsidies received in 2017 as part of the program to support domestic exporters. The Federal Treasury, the Russian Export Center, and JSC Kondopoga were involved in the case.

The decision of the Arbitration Court of the city of Moscow, announced on September 7, denied the claim. The court agreed with the arguments of the lawyers that the purposes of subsidizing provided for by the law have been achieved, and Karelia Pulp LLC is the proper recipient of subsidies.

A similar claim of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in the amount of 2 billion rubles for another period will be considered by the Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
