“Extradition on a Reciprocal Basis” — Comments of Tatiana Tereshchenko for RBC

Tatiana Tereshchenko, the head of the analytical direction at Prime Advice Law Firm, has commented to RBC live on the issue of extradition of pilot Savchenko: "There is a legal basis for her extradition. But political considerations may form significant obstacles."

As to extradition of the Russians who are in custody in the USA in exchange for extradition  of Savchenko to Ukraine, the possibility of and the procedure for extradition are described in the international treaty. However, as T. Tereshchenko points out, if countries have no treaty, extradition may be performed on a reciprocal basis.
